You may express your opinion here and discuss AI comics with the intent of explaining why r/porncomics should allow or remove AI generated porn comics.

Arguments that AI comics are “crap”, “slop”, “badly done” will be ignored or removed because it doesn't apply to this subreddits intent nor rules.
Mods intentionally don't judge comics posted here based on if it has pleasing qualities for some individuas, or if it has just the right amount of effort someone thinks has been put into it. We allow sketches, beginners, concepts, 3D computer generated comics, and so on.
If you have ethical concerns about mods not judging quality, it's okay to discuss that.
Of important note: We will not tolerate bullying.
People will continue to be banned when they chose harassment over being civil. Let's do our best to be kind to each other even when we strongly disagree.

I’ll start with an ethical concern I don’t usually hear.
The energy used for AI is outrageous and is damaging the planet.
Yes, even Reddit’s energy use is contributing to that damage, but AI, using racks and racks of power hungry GPU processors is another step up.
Oh wow, I was just about to post another of my comics here! Here’s my perspective from being an artist before AI existed, and an AI user now:
I did illustration for a number of years and initially hated that AI started taking over the space. Then I had the realization that I was letting other people dictate my thoughts. I would bet that most artists, myself included, started making art simply to show people what was in our imagination. And then suddenly a tool comes along that can make that happen so much faster. A tool which perfectly aligns with the reason I started making art in the first place. So, what actual reason do I have to hate on it?
Thus, I started to embrace the new AI tools. With only a bit of guidance, it can create artworks that simply outclass what I can do, while taking a fraction of the time. And, after learning its capabilities; it even enabled me to craft full and complete stories in a reasonable time. And in the future, I feel that the AI tools will only get better, and the world will inevitably embrace these AI tools as they have others. So, it is best to accept/learn them now rather than be left in the dust.
I personally don’t like AI for a few reasons. First, AI of art is basically stealing others art, usually without their consent. It’s appropriating others artwork, and most people do not want that. Secondly, its terrible for the environment. I try to not use it as much as possible even things like Chat GPT because it takes an insane amount of energy and water. Also, for me it isn’t very visually appealing, though that isnt a general moral argument.
I don’t like them, but I’d be lying if I said I never “enjoyed” any of the AI comics. Maybe just label them, and then users can filter them individually?
There currently exist no good ai image generators that do not have stolen artwork as part of their training data. Many if not all ai images generators have been trained on artwork form social sites like Twitter, Reddit, deviant art, pixiv and more. That is to say that ai art that isn’t 100% consensually trained (which is currently none of them) is unethical. Stack the environmental impact of these sites and data centers using literal tons of water and just as much power destroying natural habitats and burning through resources, I just think any allowance of ai art hurts the artists and people who actually make good creative works across all artistic communities.
I don’t have an issue with ai for looks. Nor do I judge mods for allowing it as part of bot not judging quality. I do have an issue with allowing it ethnically when by its nature ai functions off theft of others work, and to function uses high amount of water and electricity that are detrimental to the environment. By allowing it, it tells people it’s okay to use something that is harmful to the environment and to artists that put in the work. I’m of the belief that for these reasons, it shouldn’t be allowed and should be removed. I don’t believe it is good enough to allow them to be filtered out cause the issue isn’t seeing them, it’s that they are being made in the first place. The more people that post them, the higher chance others will decide to use this damaging technology.
All generative ai is bad for these reasons. All of them (chatGPT, chat ais, etc) should not just be banned from an Reddit, but shouldn’t be legal unless they are using only your own works, you feed it and advancements are made to help the environmental impact.
