I always had in mind that Spike wouldn’t have a “macho stud” style, but rather a charismatic twink looking. After the Radslime episode, I wanted to invest in making him more feminine, turning him into a femboy. I even made a character sheet explaining the reason (in the lore) for the design change.
However, at the time, I didn’t have the practice or skills to draw the changes as I had envisioned. What happened was a distorted design that generated numerous confused reader comments. Now, reposting the episodes, I noticed my mistake and admit it was a terrible decision.
I even thought about “fixing” or completely remaking the episodes (basically more than half of season 2), but it’s unfeasible and would end up delaying the new episodes I have planned, so I’ll have to live with this scar that has marred several episodes of my most successful series.
I hope to see this as an evolution of my style and skills, drawing Spike better (and without big boobs lol) in future episodes.
