On one hand, stories like this are meant to show being a certain way isn’t bad, that if you are a man acting “womanly” it’s okay. Don’t be afraid of change or to change. On the other hand, it uses sexist tropes to explain the acceptance of girliness. “I used to be able to handle horror movies” doesn’t make sense, I know plenty of women who don’t even flinch at horror movies. And good at the crane game? C’mon now, no one is good at the crane game.

I could buy into the story more if it weren’t for these two things.
